    Is flytrex same as iosd?

What are the advantages of having either or if not both?

Currently i have iOSD. Does the 3g signal effect the compass??

I understand that some flytrex models you can get 3G tracking. This would be ideal if I lost my phantom.

I was thinking of ripping that iOSd out and just having flytrex. Does anybody know if it takes much power consumption also would it be compatible with my datalink 2.4ghz.

Which Flytrex product are you looking at? I use the iOSD and the Flytrex Core2. While the iOSD sends telemetry to monitor, the Flytrex Core records it to a memory card. You can later use that data for different reasons like if you wanted to add the data to a video... you may have seen them where there are gauges indicating height, distance, etc on screen with the video.
The Flytrex Live requires a paid account but it gives you live tracking. Personally I use a GPS tracker (PocketFinder) on mine.

No there are not the same. IOSD provides on screen telemetry for FPV. A transmitter, receiver and monitor required.
Flytrex records telemetry, Core 2 on SD card, and Live provides real time telemetry and tracking via apps or pc.
    It does not effect compass.
Unnoticeable power consumption. It is not a transmitter so it is compatible with 2.4 or 5G. If you don't want on screen telemetry rip it out.

Why don't you just go to the Flytrex website?
The Flytrex Live uses the cellphone network to provide you with live (less the SMS propagation delays) location data which is overlaid on a Google Map display.

It doesn't do FPV. Read my post above for FPV requirements.

Flytrex has nothing at all to do with FPV. Depending on the model Flytrex you choose it collects data to a micro card onboard the airframe or it transmits data live which can be seen on a computer or device.

You could also just add a GPS tracker to your bird. I am using the PocketFinder.
