Flying PV in manual

I have just successfully updated my Vision to v1.05 test flown and all is good. I have set S2 to manual at position 3 as I have some good experience with more traditional model helicopters and like a challenge! Before I jump into the lions den, can any experienced Phantom flyers tell me how robust the Attitude mode is and if its thrown around does it switch back successfully?

Next time I get out to fly (maybe over Thanksgiving if the weather cooperates) I plan on testing that exact issue. Manual = NO attitude compensation whatsoever, if I recall my reading of the manual correctly. I have no idea what if any lag-time is involved in the re-invoking of the attitude compensation when switching back to ATTI or GPS from manual.

One would hope the lag would be < 2 seconds.
