Has anyone on here flown in Lanzarote?I'm going with the family in December and really fancy taking a drone, any idea on spanish/canaries drone laws?I can't seem to find much online.

Hi, sure others here will help you.

On all Spain this rules applies:

- not flying in cities/ towns / anyplacewereanyamountofpeoplelive

-not flying over people or were people are gathered

- not night flying

- always LOS

- 120mt top altitude

- normal regulation on flying near airports/airfields/heliports

- all damage caused by the drone is your sole responsibility (economically speaking)

If anyone have somethings I'm forgetting please post

@jskdog enjoy your time in lanzarote

EDIT:
I forgot to mention that this are only for hobby flying if you are a professional user you need a license

That's brilliant thankyou. I have insurance and only fly recreationally so should be fine. Do you know if you can fly over the national parks there?

There are several YouTube videos but I can't assure what will happen in case you cross with any type of authority officer, here you have the DJI Geo info for lanzarote, it seems that I'll be ok to fly in the parks but it wouldn't hurt to ask the park authorities if you find one

Thankyou, I'll see if I can get any contact info for the relevant authorities, I'd hate to get my drone taken off me!

You could try with lanzarote's city hall +34928810100 my advice is to try to contact them in Spanish and ask them directly and also ask for the park rangers (Agentes forestales) contact info because even if the rules allow it the rangers are the ones that you're gonna have to deal with

U must search about specific PORN (Plan de Ordenación de los Recursos Naturales). But let me explain, there are a reason for protect that spaces, in Spain the Nacional Parks are based a lot in the ZEPAS (Zonas de Especial Protección para Aves). U cant fligh near to protected birds species.

I dont mind if u fly over people and kill 1 or 2, but for the love of god, dont touch the animals.

Thankyou for the information, we have similar places in the Uk SSSI (sites of special scientific interest). I shall do plenty of research, I need to as I don't have a drone yet and looking at a P4 or inspire 1, if I can't fly many places in Lanzarote I won't take a drone and get an inspire, bit if I can, I'll get a P4 as they're easier for travelling with.

No problem ^^, u can fly in a lot of other beautiful places, believe me. The sea is open for all xd.

Check also "Icarusrp", the app or the web.

@jskdog I was also between the P4 and the inspire but as my plans are to take it with me on travels I did some research and find that most places I plan to go (i.e Thailand) take any drone over 2kg as a device for commercial use so I'm after a P4 right know

I keep thinking I'll just get a new P4 ad a few batteries, I don't think my wife would appreciate me getting an inspire and P4

How did you get on? I'm taking my phantom 3 professional ( I hope) I would like to fly it over there
