ok so it was finally a great day with no wind so I decided to try a distance run at school. Called the airport which was not a category a or b, but to cover my but i called anyway talked to the tower gave them my FAA number asked for permission to fly southwest away from the airport no higher then 200 ft for 30 minutes. I got the approval from the tower they informed me to stay clear of the run way and if anything changes to give them a call. COOL I got all set up calibrated the compass, and boom....nothing it would not take off i guess i was to close to the airport maybe.?
so DJI has it set up that no matter what airport you can't fly around there period, regardless of the category i guess, i understand better safe then sorry, but even the tower did not mention anything, they actually appreciated the heads up.
