There are a suprising number of 1 star ratings on Amazon reporting issues with only this latest model. Owning the FC40 and never experiencing anything being reported re Vision+, can't believe this newest model would have issues other than new user error? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The amazon reviews aren't exactly the best place to view reviews for quads. Look into the forums like this and rcgroups.com the P2V+ has better internals than the FC40 and most flyaways are caused due to user error and lack of pre-planning. You need to calibrate your compass once in a while double check you've enough satellites and not fly into a super urban area where there's too much interference. Following just these rules are enough to reduce the chances of a flyaway significantly.

If you're skeptical , do the alu-foil mod. Still worried , get the GSM-GPS tracker and you can track it from anywhere in the world.

I think they're all subject to flyways of various kinds.

tho the newer Visions and Phantom 2's do seem more susceptible to "sudden loss of battery" that Phantom 1's never experienced.
furthermore, the older Phantom 1's and FC40's aren't as reliant on FPV technology, as they only fly in NAZA mode. - making them far less susceptible to loss of orientation,.etc
