Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm new to this so bear with me, and this forum I'm finding very helpful..

When you click onto the map you can draw lines on it. Can the aircraft follow these lines?

And is there a good guide on using the waypoints feature on the standard? DJI don't seem to make it very easy to find this info..

Again, sorry if it is somewhere here, I just didn't see it,..

It's a "guide" for you to follow not an autopilot path.

As far as the waypoint feature, you fly the route first, tagging waypoints as you go. Afterwards, you can tell it to automatically fly the route.

The idea behind this sort of waypoint system is that maps are often off a little bit, and GPS is often off a little bit, combine the two and if you aren't careful you might be flying into an obstacle. If you are flying and tagging waypoints it's much more likely that you're going to have a safe flight.

That said there are third party apps with all sorts of autopilot functionality.

Here is a link to a nice tut on the waypoint feature in DJI Go.
