firmware updating/IMU

Hello, im new to this hobby, So excuse me if this is a dumb question.
After a firmware update should IMU and compass calibration be done everytime you update the drone ? Thanks

I'd definitely do the IMU following a firmware upgrade as the new dji go4 has a new warming up IMU feature and I would want to be sure it was calibrated correctly to start with. I haven't done a compass calibration since I bought mine and would only do it if i was prompted to or had issues in flight.

No ... no recalibrations are required after a firmware update.
If they were DJI would have mentioned it in the manual and they never have.

Unless Meta4 chimes in with a more reasoned opinion, I have never had any issues after doing so.

If you did it properly it will be fine.
It's just that it's not necessary to do it.

Firmware issues...Trying to figure out if I did something wrong. 1. Did the new update and now it will not confirm 2nd part of calibration and it stays locked on screen?
2. My screen is black...no picture at all?
3. Camera controls will not open up on flight screen?

My DJI Go 4 app tells me to calibrate the compass every time I fly. It is easy to do, and from what I have heard, it is a good habit to acquire even of the app doesn't tell you.

Are you sure it's telling you to do it? You're most likely just seeing the button to calibrate it.

It's really not a good idea to calibrate the compass before each flight. See the Compass Calibration Guide for the best advice.
