Firmware updating a new battery

Hello - so I have recently received my new P3A and did the firmware update for the aircraft and RC and then did all the IMU calibrations. I have just received a new spare battery (it was late arriving) and have read I need to update the firmware for this too. Do I just repeat the above steps (minus the RC update)?
