Firmware failure

I recently purchased a used Phantom 3 Professional without a gimbal and camera. It performed just fine. I then tried to add a used 4k camera/gimbal to the drone and was directed to update the firmware. I was unable to update the firmare via sd card and must have done something to the software because the drone now will not work. Is there a way to update the firware without a gimbal/camera attached to the drone?

Normally no, you can't properly update firmware with the camera/gimbal removed.

Question - did you use a P3P 4K camera, or did you use a 4K camera from a P34K? I ask because it has been frequently asked here if a P34K camera can be used on a P3P. A few people have had issues when they tried to use one before finding out that it won't work.

The label on the bottom of the gimbal circuitry says it's phantom pro.
