Tobi, just a week or so ago another video was posted like this. Two roman candles mounted on a Phantom, filmed in late afternoon, and that target wore a helmet. It caused a wee bit of controversy here on the list. So be prepared for both congratulatory slaps on the back and high fives, as well as "You will have us all grounded by posting your stupidity!"

    I vacillate between both sides...

while this looks like all fun and games, you should really consider how this could be used against the UaV community

if people get ahold of this they can easily say rubbish like "imagine guns being mounted there! what if it's more serious than fireworks?!"

    just food for thought

Welcome to the party Tobi.

As you may be able to see, you've pulled a *****, according to some.

Non-flammable clothing would be a good idea. ;)

Have fun & stay away from the trolls.

While I think this would be a fun idea to do away from the public's eyes at your own risk, posting it on youtube for all to see could stir up some negative controversy and could potentially give the FAA more reasons to put restrictions on our hobby.

    Hello IflyinWY,

It all started for me with a Symax X1 ($70)) given to my 10 year-old daughter for xmas. I enjoyed "helping" her so much that I bought an Ares Ethos FPV ($300) from Walt's Hobby in Syracuse NY. Also bought a tiny Hubsan X4 to play with. I plan to continue using these for flying practice.

I've enjoyed these so much that I ended up buying a DJI Phantom 2 Vision + V3 which I got about 5 days ago. I have only flown it once - for a 3 minute test after calibrating the compass. I live in Watertown NY and flying time has been severely limited by cold and snow.

I look forward to following along on the forum and maybe will contribute some footage in the future.

    Thanks.

Hobbyists have been mounting guns, rockets, bombs, and all sorts of other pyrotechnics to R/C aircraft and heli's for years now. This comes as NO SURPRISE!
