Hey guys, I am looking to connect the Fatshark receiver onto its own battery vs. from the battery that powers the Phantom.

Can you guys tell me which battery I need to buy?
Also if I need to do that (I am concerned that the receiver reduces flight time).

Much appreciated.

I don't think the Fat Shark transmitter uses that much power. Besides, adding the weight of an extra battery would probably eat up any energy savings you'd get from it.

+1 from The Don - not worth it. Stock Fatshark TX is only 250mw which on the grand scheme of things is pretty small. At 12v it will be drawing 0.02 amps if my calculations are correct.

The FatShark TX will run off the same 7.4v 1000Mah battery that powers the FS goggles. And even with that battery runs for at least ten flights.
