The FAA is taking away your rights for FPV. This is NO JOKE! It has nothing to do with criminalizing your drone, but has to deal with criminalizing FPV, which is a lot easier for them to do. This is NO JOKE, make your voices heard.

Sadly these petitions will be meaningless. The one and only thing the FAA will even look at are the comments they receive on the official comment site:

http://www.regulations.gov/#!submitComm ... -0396-0001

But even then they are not bound by anything that is written there. I think that ultimately it is going to take going to court to get a judicial ruling on what their limits really are and what Section 336 really means.

Thanks for the comment but I don't think you read my post correctly.

Posted my comments on the official site. Everyone here needs to make this a priority as there is only a 30 day window for the comment period.

I can find the FAA's interpretation of the proposed rulings, but I cannot find the rule document itself to read paragraph 91 for myself. Does someone have the URL for the document?

The commenting deadline for the FAA's Interpretation of the Special Rule for Model Aircraft is July 25, 2014 at 11:59 PM.

This Interpretive Rulemaking will:

  • - create actual law banning on commercial operations;
    - ban FPV operations; and
    - allow the FAA to use all existing Federal Aviation Regulations against model aircraft operators.
Commenting has jumped dramatically.

  • Last week there were only about 3,000 comments.
    Yesterday morning, it was up to about 8,000.
    In the past 24 hours it has jumped to 22,568 comments.
That's about 14,000 comments submitted in a single day!
