FAA approves limited commercial Aerial Cinematography

Knowing the FAA, I'm surprised they didn't require a Commercial ticket. Spend thousands to get a PPL so you can stand flat footed on a closed set. SHEEESE !

4 years to approve 7 companies. I've seen glaciers move faster.

May 27 to September 25. 4 months start to finish from application to authorization.

But that is 2 years 7 months after the FMRA was passed.

Slow progress, but progress none the less.

Not only do the operators have to be pilots but there is a mountain of paperwork to be finished each time there is a UAV opperation. Read the 6 pages of conditions and limitations at the end of the exception documents. However, the local FSDO can waive a good portion of the paper work.
