Hi, am new in this forum, just wondering if someone tried hooking the fc40 to an external power supply? Am thinking of a dc dc converter to step down the voltage of the power supply from the phantom to power up the fc40. internal battery in my camera does not last 30 mins continuous use. even when fully charged. thanks.

hi all, let me clarify my question since it maybe confusing. I am referring to the FC40 Camera's Battery. The internal battery does not last long when recording continuously and wifi linked. about 18 minutes max. I was thinking if someone already tried hooking the fc40 camera to the phantom power supply, using a step down converter.

Have you considered maybe hooking it up to a small USB power bank? Not sure if the camera would record if it's being charged though.... :?

yes, that's one of the options, connecting thru the USB port and tapping the phantom power supply (11.1v) hooked to a step down converter (5v). I tried to simulate this using a USB wall charger hooked to the camera and I was able to record while charging. the other option is to tap directly to the FC40 camera board and solder wires to the power supply terminals.
