I am following this forum like a hawk....and playing around with my cheap in house drone practicing.

In anticipation of buying a phantom.....can anyone elaborate on what exactly the "esc" stands for and what the issue is.....should I wait on purchasing a phantom?

thanks

ESC is "Electronic Speed Controller"... it's a little board (there are 4 of them, one for each motor) that sits inbetween the mainboard/flight computer, and the motor itself. it basically controls how fast the motor spins.

I'm not understanding your context about waiting on a Phantom purchase related to ESCs. Perhaps some confusion about how the new "V2.0" Phantom 2 (non-Vision series) has upgraded motors and ESCs?

Oh, I thought I read somewhere there was an esc problem on v3 Phantom vision2

ah ok. I'm focused on the NON-Vision series Phantom 2s, and have never heard about an issue like that with the ESCs.

There are comments about the P2V+ and ESC issues. A search will bring several up.

Meanwhile....

Oh wow, thanks you for that upload! Learned a few new things from that video and have a couple of projects to work on when I get into microprocessors.
