ESC Error

Yes many have reported ESC errors after crashes. ESC are electronic circuits to control the speeds of motors by controlling the voltage/ currents and limit the currents to a value.

These errors are generated when something goes wrong with a motor or the electronics board.

First step is to check the motors.

Do you have a clue what may have caused it? For example, longer screws fitted to motors usually cause permanent damage to the motor field windings which will throw an ESC error code- replacing the damaged motor(s) usually resolves the issue. If you have crashed or otherwise got the phantom in a situation where the props are obstructed the locked rotor over current can quite often cause the output mosfets in the ESC to be destroyed.

If it's happened out if the blue make sure you are on latest firmware and the motors feel good when manually manipulated (they should spin freely without excessive axial play or end float without any binding (you will feel some resistance from the armature magnets interacting with the stator however as long as they feel the same you should be good).

If the error persists, for whatever reason, you are looking a replacement mainbiard.
