Weather - Winds mostly calm, 5G10 occasionally, OAT 40 degrees F.

Observation - All systems prior to takeoff check just fine on the initial page. Battery temp above 15C. Aircraft launch in P mode, I climb it to about 20' and let it hover. Will not hover in place, drifts every which way. Every few seconds aircraft banks sharply L/R 5-10 degrees then instantly recovers to level attitude. During tailwind, descends a few feet rapidly, if a headwind climbs 10-20' very rapidly. Go to Atti mode, aircraft stabilizes and performs far less erratically, any deviations can be attributed to wind.
Land aircraft, shut down, perform inspection. No defects noted. IMU calibration not indicated, same for compass cal.
Start up, let system stabilize on ground for about a minute after motor start. Take off in Atti mode, seem OK Go to P mode, same performance variations only a bit more extreme. To use the aeronautical term, it flies "twitchy". :)

Questions
1. Is the cold temp the issue? This is my first time flying it when this cold.
2. Have I gotten dust into something important? Although I do my utmost to not take off or land over dirt, this is a dusty, dry environment. May as well tell a British pilot not to fly in fog or an Inuit not to fly over snow..
3. Is there something I can do to troubleshoot the issue further?
4. Should I forego all and just send to DJI for depot level maintenance? Aircraft has about 110 hours on it.

Any assistance appreciated.

Have you tried in another location? I've had one erratic issue very similar to yours. I moved perhaps 50 yards and issue was gone. Worth a try?

"I climb it to about 20' and let it hover. Will not hover in place, drifts every which way. Every few seconds aircraft banks sharply L/R 5-10 degrees then instantly recovers to level attitude."
Could not be a more perfect description of a P3 in need of a IMU calibration.

"During tailwind, descends a few feet rapidly, if a headwind climbs 10-20' very rapidly."
This takes place based on pressure changes the barometer reads by pressure sensor. However, even though this is common behavior, the amount of movement here is entirely too much.

Without looking at any data, at this point I would suggest a complete proper calibration of everything. The R/C, Gimbal and gimbal wheel, Compass.
