It is important that compass calibration is done in an area that is free of magnetic influences.
That means, cars, structural steel, buried pipes, electric cables and most commonly reinforced concrete.
But calibrating the IMU only requires a good level surface.
You can do it anywhere if you have a level surface - no worries about magnetic influences.
