DroneDeploy Real World Applications

I have recently had better luck with Drone deploy. The flight with drone deploy still seems rather violent to me. I like Pix4d's flight pattern better. And I still get better results and a more complete point cloud with Photoscan. Perhaps I'm not setting something right in the Pix4d software...

The main thing here is the overlap. Any software needs at least 80% overlap.
80% overlap? Dang that's a lot. In some of the tests I've done with other aps I was always shooting for 50% and this may account for my lack of success.

Thank you for the information.

Are you ,manually snapping the pics?
the P3 camera timed shots is 5sec at the lowest.
does this give you enough overlap at the speed you are going?

With Drone Deploy you do not have to set a timer. In the Drone Deploy app it does everything for you. Just set the altitude and how much overlap you would like.

Any of you guys use Altizure? It's a great program and free. It's my go to app to make 3D landscapes (I wrote an entire article about it on my website). I love DroneDeploy too, but I would suggest giving it a try.

I can't get DroneDeploy up and running.
I can't get past the check list.
It just sits there checking way points and the bottom one.
Everything else gets the OK check
