I was flying over a raging river taking pics of some ruins and I stupidly lost situational awareness. I thought I was over the middle of the river but backed into a tree on the other side. The end of the next day I finally found a good tree climber. These guys have guts. Here is some video from the rescue

Not good enough. Plan was for him to carry it down after extricating by hand.

A helper down below caught it. Only apparent damage was prop tips busted off all 4 props - likely from initial contact with the tree. I'm getting new props today and plan to try it out.

You have no idea the luck involved in just finding this guy to do it. I was far from home in a small town. The tree guy balked at the job. A stop at a small local bar, chat with the woman behind the bar about my predicament. Then she calls a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy.

Took it for a brief flight with new props. Flew like a champ.
