Does anyone know if the return home trick works?

I have been curious but not had the guts to do it. Wanted to know if could go over 1649 if I did the return to home from 500 m and home button while pushing left ha doe up. I saw a video of this but not sure if it still works. Some one let me know. Thanks.

Not anymore, DJI closed that loop hole as soon as it was discovered.
