With a Lightbridge providing a power feed to the GoPro Black 3+ does the GoPro battery need to be left in the GoPro. I have turned my system on without a battery in the GoPro and was able to get a video feed to Lightbridge and the H3-3d gimbal seemed to function fine. Anyone else try this? Save some wieght without GoPro battery.

If you get a power glitch - say as the battery discharges and the motors demand more current as the voltage drops, you could lose or corrupt the recording. The GoPro is not designed to operate without its battery, so you are taking this risk.
