The SONY does have non-optical image stabilization, missing on the GoPro 3. But the GoPro 3 does offer up to 4k video at 15fps and 2k and 3fps.
I'm betting SONY is making an investment in DJI, and maybe as a not-so silent partner. It would be a VERY smart move for them.

I am glad to see this.
I have a Sony AS15 and prefer it to the GoPro.
I feel it has a much sharper image and more vibrant colors.
I use the Sony AS 15 on my Phantom I.
I attach it to the GoPro mount with rubber bands. Cheese I know but it works:

I am still trying to set up an FPV on this system.
looking at an hdmi converter to AVI then I can place it in a standard FPV transmitter.
If anyone has a suggestion please let me know.
