DJI Vision and Ground Station radius ring

Not had much chance to try this out yet after a minor accident and some really rubbish weather but on a test hover the other night after the phantom fix i did i noticed a radius ring on the map on Ground Station, is this a recommended max distance i can fly the phantom based on the current power levels of the phantom, extender etc.... Will it change once i have the extender fully charged ????

Per the Phantom manual, "waypoints cannot be placed beyond 500m from the home point or inside no waypoint areas". That radius ring should be showing you this area.

I presume the phantom if i dont use waypoints has a greater range than that or is that its limits ????

The Phantom _may_ have a range further then 500m, it just depends on the area. Usually people can get 800m. There are several apps from 3rd party developers that remove the limit on waypoints.
