Dji releases the Lightbridge amplifier.

I'm not sure how they can title it "DJI Lightbridge" when it apparently has nothing to do with the DJI we all know. That alone makes me afraid to purchase anything from them. No thanks. I shift my eyes left and right and exit that website, slowly...

Like!

Boy would I seriously love this for my P2V. I just did the 2 antenna upgrade, so I'm getting about 2000 feet, non HD.
I basically use mine for real estate purposes, so right now I couldn't justify the $1600 price tag when I only paid $1050 for my P2V :|

I think DJI is large enough and ambitious enough to price it under $1k

The price has been listed, it's $1599....

Dagnabbit.

The remote part better cost $100-200 from the total, in case it flies away. I'm not brave enough to risk a $1600 vtx gear on a Phantom....

On the plus side you'd get to see what it's doing and roughly where it's going for over a mile in full HD while it did it...

Yea but it's like a teasing peep show.. you'd see all the build up without the climax as it would lose LOS just before it comes on earth

Is the actual Lightbridge in action. Look closely at the tablet!!

Is that a new phantom vision 3 (camera)???

No, looks like a GoPro. This has to be the lightbridge because if you look in the beginning of the video there is a cable attached to the futaba. I am wondering how they are getting HDMI out of the GoPro with the zenmus???

Heck, that's not much bigger than the AVL58 at all!

And it replaces the vtx, iosd and receiver?

Sounds like a winner

What would Lightbridge do for you? HD FPV basically? And long range control/FPV?

If you watch that video below your original post, you can see a super flexible cable going from the side of the gopro up to the Light Bridge. It's just hanging which at this point makes sense, and it shouldn't stress anything out at all.

If only they would make this work with the standard DJI controller. I sure don't mind the controller, even if it is cheap. But it works. So i'd rather not buy another expensive controller to get this working with a Phantom 2

Just found this - up close and personal with Lightbridge and a P2...

That is nice to see. I wonder if they could create a trainer plug adapter for the stock Phantom 2 transmitter by using the mini USB on the transmitter. I don't see why they couldn't.
