Im looking to buy a DJI Phantom 2. I plan to buy & use a gopro hero 3+ black camera.
Here is a list with links to what I was looking at buying. Best place ive found so far is dronefly on prices.
1. Dji Phantom 2+H3-2D Gimbal Combo http://www.dronefly.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=P2Gimbal
2. 5" Wireless 5.8ghz Monitor DVR DV05shttp://www.dronefly.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=DV05s&CartID=1
3. Dji 5.8 Tx (Only Tx)http://www.dronefly.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=tx&CartID=4
4. Clover leaf Antenna for Dji 5.8 video downlink (Tx & Rx) http://www.dronefly.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=antenna&CartID=5
5. Phone Holder (Phantom 2 Vision) http://www.dronefly.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=vision-phone-holder&CartID=2 I was told the 5" monitor will mount to this?

Since some of you here already own dji products and have had experience using them I wanted some advice on where to buy. I will need everything to make this a complete system. Im trying to save money as this will be a pricey endeavor. So any places that you know to get the best deals on the equipment will help. Plus I live in the USA so shops here in the USA would be preferred if possible.
Also I am curious does using the gopro and adding this separate TX/RX for the FPV make the heli heavier and have less fly time than a phantom vision 2? Also will I have full control of the gimbal to move it with the stock Dji transmitter and RX or is that done though the FPV system?

Right now with everything listed plus the camera and a few extra options like prop guards Im seeing it cost arounf $1,600.00 thats just about too much in my opinion. But I do want quality pics and video better than what i see from the vision 2. Are the items ive picked out good ones? And is there anything I am missing to make this complete besides a sd card for the camera?

I would not buy from Dronfly do a search here many complaints about them . I got my P1 from amazon sold by KooZam . I got my P2 from B&H photo they are in NY fast shipping and great Customer support I have bought more that just the P2 from them and every order has been a good experience .

Today I ordered the phantom 2 from B&H.
The fpv gear from drone fly.
The gopro and sd card off ebay.

I just got the phantom 2 and gopro from B&H, they give a free sd card with the gopro. I don't like their Dji support though. I felt maybe they could have done some more troubleshooting. I am a bit skeptical about their knowledge of the phantom.

I would consider readymaderc.com and getfpv.com for fpv gear. Both provide fast shipping and quick responses to questions.

I picked up all if my fatshark and immersion rc gear from these two shops.

Btw, I would buy the phantom from b&h, great support.

Thanks for the suggestions. Dronefly is out of stock now on some of the items I ordered. They are sending me the TX and the 5" LCD monitor with receiver built in. But I wont have the 5.8Ghz antennas. Those and the other stuff are on back order now. Can anyone suggest whats a really good antenna pair to buy?

These from Readymade -> http://www.readymaderc.com/store/index. ... ts_id=1058

I get my stuff from GetFPV.com.
I got the diversity monitor with 2 antennas http://www.getfpv.com/7-sky-702-5-8ghz- ... nitor.html

One antenna on the monitor is the BluBeam
http://www.getfpv.com/5-8ghz-blubeam-wh ... e-sma.html

The other is this helical.

I get crazy range with the helical. I have never flown out of range. I don't go for distance or anything, but I did chase a balloon up to 600 meters altitude with no problem.

Video of balloon chase here. http://youtu.be/NOHZ51T4BMU

The new gopro adapter on the H3-3D is nothing but a fragile cable. The older 2Ds have the adapter built into the mount. That mount will work with the 3D. I got one for $50 on eBay and it works on my 3D just fine.
