To early for me to decide simply because there is just not enough info yet.
Let's just see what DJI has to offer on the Mavic first.
Each company will indulge on the first Intro video for thier product.
I will wait to answer this after the DJI release next week.

I'm looking forward to see just what the Mavic really is .
I've seen all the rumors but we really won't know till it comes out like BB said .

Distance of 1000m Max is a deal breaker for me. I can't go back to short distances. I'm sure it's less than 1000m in the city

Remember, the design was to be made for more local anyway. Almost a selfie drone. It will be fun to see what it really can do!

I hope the Mavic will use Lightbridge and not WiFi, having a limited range, like others have said would mean I would be in the market for a P4, I'm waiting for the launch next week and hopefully will make my mind up then.

1000 meter range is no better than I had on my old phantom 2. Forget it for me. I'm in no need to be a hero so badly that I would pay good money to go back to 2014 range levels.

With no camera $799, with a Session 5 - $999 and with a Hero 5 Black I think $1189. All prices include the backpack case and the handheld gimbal mount.

I'm actually not sure I'm buying any of these "selfie" drones. I've ruled out the Breeze and Karma. Well the Karma isn't really a selfie drone, but it doesn't offer me anything more than the drones I have.

I'll see what the Mavic offers other than small size...

Yes. There was a lot of implied speed in that video.

We have yet to experience the field performance of GoPro Karma, we for sure know that New DJI Mavic will not disappoint us.

    If the Mavic is:
    4K with stabilisation
    Lightbridge
    20min Flight time
Portable and ruggerred (just toss into a backpack).
    Sub 2 pounds
    Obstacle avoidance

Would this kill the rest of the DJI line? That ticks all my boxes for

My exact thoughts with the addition of not having props showing on camera at full speed ahead.
I was going to buy the Phantom 4 last week after it was on special for $500 off, then considered the GoPro Karma and while researching it I found out about the Mavic.
There are plenty of people calling the Mavic a "Selfie" drone (Dronie) and others saying it might be a racing drone.
I think (hope) it's more of a compact folding Phantom 4 , with a "Transformers" sort of feel to it.
    D - J - I - more than meets the eye.
