Dji Go App new feature?

I recently noticed my dji go app updated from Google play. I noticed a new icon on the left side of the screen that looks like a finger with a line above it. When I select this.. it let's me draw on my map.... like a boundary guide or something. Does this help you stay in an area when looking at the map?

It is now new.

One simply uses it as a guide to fly along a map or satellite image.
