Hi guys

Doing a short 2 hour domestic flight in South Africa P4 is allowed but not the battery

Restriction is 160amps per hour, P4 is around 5350amps per hour

What if they battery is discharged

Any idea what a standard laptop battery amp is which is allowed

Any ideas on getting the discharged battery on as hand luggage in South Africa

Comments welcome

Happy flying
Herman

You have your numbers and terms a little mixed up.

The high capacity P4 battery is 5870mah (i.e 5.870 Amp Hour). At the rated terminal voltage of 15.2 V it equates to an energy capacity of 89.2 Wh. The upper limit imposed by most carriers is 100wh for an unlimited number of packs in carrry on. Check on the airline website.

Fully discharging the oacks before flight is not required or recommended.
