I have been following Flitetest on youtube for a while now, and been really impressed with the aerial videos they do chasing fixed wing planes. This Swede named David Windestål is flying his own design in tricopter, and has now put together a kit for the DIY minded (rcexplorer.se). He has even made an awsome build video (http://youtu.be/kvZGA6dJQJs) and best of all: The plans and STL's for 3D printing are made available for non-profit use!
The first 200 kits were sold out in the first 48 hours. So what to do? He informs people! There is a problem with the ordering page. What does he do? He informs people! (There is something to be learned here, RotorPixel...)
I'm pretty tired of my know-it-all phantom. I might even give this back-to-basics tricopter a try
