Don't know if this has been posted before, but thought I'd ask. If all the smarts for charging the P2V batteries are self contained and the supplied "battery charger" is just a power supply, would it be possible to just charge off of a 12v car battery and eliminate the need for using a power inverter and the DJI charger ?

You need, of course, a battery with enough capacity and be aware of over charging or use a current sensing device to cut off the charge.

Just thought I'd bump this since I got no replies. Any opinions, thoughts??

I can't honestly answer your question using a car battery direct, but I did a test last night charging a P2 battery on an Imax B6 quattro charger and it worked. I made an adapter from the P2 to XT60 connector (std P1 stsyle) and charged at 4amps - took 64 mins from 11.4v to 12.8. The Imax B6 is a DC charger that can be clamped to a car battery.
