Did your Batteries take the new Updated FW?

Exactly what i did:
From 1.1.9 i jump to 1.4.
On the RC i did install 1.3.2.0.

Someone above is saying i should update my Phantom 3 to 1.3.2.0 AND then 1.4?

Can someone confirm this is the right procedure???

sergeKouper:

What do you think of the new fw? Everthing is ok?

Modor,

I got that info from the new release notes for this New FW. In step 1 of the Notice, it reads "Users using older firmware are recommended to update to v1.3.20 before updating the aircraft." Maybe this isn't always the case if it's working out for some to skip over a prior update. Good Luck.

I updated last night from 1.9 to 1.4 bird only and flew. I did all new features except follow me, for some reason it wouldn't allow it. I had a warning that RC needed upgrading, so after browsing the forums I decided to down grade bird to 1.3. I updated controller and both batteries then reloaded 1.4 and everything is good to go, also noticed that my downlink is way more stable today.

Are you talking about this warning at the top of the page?:
The All-in-One firmware v1.4.0010 does not include remote controller update package. However, for the best user experience, it is recommended that the users who are using the firmware that older than v1.3.20 to update the firmware to v1.3.20 before updating the aircraft.
I read: "make sure you update your controller to 1.3.2" before you update the aircraft to 1.4.0."
Same inside the 1.4.0 zip, it says that you cannot update through the app if you don't have installed 1.3.2 on the controller.
They are not very clear, but they never say "update the aircraft to 1.3.2 before going to 1.4.0". It is not required, and the whole process goes just fine, including the update of the batteries.

You are correct, it isn't stated clearly enough. I take it as upgrade aircraft to 1.3.20 before proceeding to latest All-in-One v.1.4.001.

Sorry....English is not my native language...

What exactly must/or must i do on the RC?
I never update it...so i put the BIN file on a PEN and updated with 1.3.2.0. fw

Did i do well or wrong?

UPDATE:

Im Superconfuse.......
- I update with microsd the P3A with fw1.4.
- After, with a pen, the RC with 1.3.2.0.

What did i do wrong here?

You did nothing wrong Mordor. As long as you are 1.3.2 on the RC and 1.4.0 on the aircraft, it's all good.
Have you upgraded the batteries?

So how do you downgrade?

Also what do you do if say a few weeks from now you buy a spare battery. Downgrade back to 1.3 on the bird again to upgrade the battery to 1.3.

I read the release notes however I guess I overlooked the battery note. I was primarily reading on why not the controller also. So thanks, answers that!

I don't see any mention of the batteries in the notes.

I just popped the sd card with 1.3 in and turned it on took about 20min, took out sd and checked log file and sad success I deleted it and put in the other battery and started it again only took maybe 2 min then checked it again. I then put in my original sd card with 1.4 and turned it on and it did its beeping for about 20 and was done

Ok cool that is what I will do to be safe.

That's not "safe" ! You don't need to update the bird to 1.3.2 first. Only the controller. 1.4 updates the battery the same way. You're just going to waste 20mn doing something unnecessary.

Ok I guess I am all set then. Just wish there was a way to see what FW was on the batteries.

I only have one battery, so i presume the 1.4fw did also update the battery automatically..
I have backup of the logs:

Okay I've always been Updating with every new release, as I'm not as-cared.
Now if I buy a new battery that has not been updated and put it in the bird with the recent firmware on my SD card the battery will update? ( The Bird Battery! )
Yes or No
My Controller Batteries are already up to date as I always stayed on top of releases. :)

She Cute huh? :) Think I'll use her from now on for Rolly Eyes.

I definitely must have problems with my English....

I feel somehow in this tread overwhelming with wisdom...

Just kidding...

So....is my only battery updated or not?

Yes or Not?

;)
