Diagonal Landing and Battery

Hey All

I had this extreme case couple of days ago (Survival story and what could i have done better?),

so i have this question,

when the battery is dying, and you are trying to make it back home.
If you will DESCEND while the RTH is happening, will this affect battery more? meaning, is it better, to first fly over the home point and then land?

no it shouldn't effect it that much plus coming down lower gives you more options to land just in case
