Cutting up landing gear.

I'm considering cutting some weight by hack sawing the landing skids.
First option and my preferred is to cut off the front strut leaving an L shape.
Second is to cut out the cross member leaving all 4 vertical posts.
Thoughts comments and experience welcome.

the Landing gear weighs a total of about 42grams,. I can't see being able to shave more than 10g from them before they'd lose structural integrity.

The plan was to also remove the front legs from the camera field of view.
