    When your video clip is on the timeline, position the timeline marker somewhere over the clip top make it appear in the "program" window. Click on the program window and a "box" will appear around your video clip. Drag any corner of the box to make your clip larger or smaller. By making it bigger, you can effectively crop your video clip. This will end up being an "effect" and you will have to render it on your timeline. (turn red bar to green) Read your manual if you are confused on this point. Hope this helps!
