The problem I see with most new editors is that they fall in love with every frame. Very often I toss aside many perfectly good shots because either I have a similar shot that looks better, the shot simply doesn't work with the others or there are time restraints. Sometimes an hour of footage will only produce 2 minutes of really great shots. When in doubt, throw it out!
