Crashed my baby today, what's salvageable?

Haha, I got a chuckle at this one. This guy at San Diego has taken his phantom that crashed into a lake, got its camera dislocated and not working (no video), and is selling the broken parts, for a total of $1,267... MORE than a price of a new one...

Oh, and we should get excited because we are saving taxes buying from him!
Good luck pal...

My thoughts exactly! I did the mental math and was like WTF?

Actually guys, that San Diego geezer is probably not as wishful or daft as you might think. Ponder this: a scrap merchant takes your old heap of a car and gives you fifty bucks.... And that really was all the car was worth. But how much will he sell it for in total? He'll sell the wheels for more than thy and everything else will be a profit.

The P3 is such a desirable product and so easily damaged through crashes that people are always needing this part or that. If you went to DJI and bought every individual part and built your own, would you save money? Nope, it would cost you way more. It's the synergetic effect of buying the whole instead of the parts! He won't get his asking price for the RC but it wouldn't surprise me if he got $400-450 and he knows it! Someone desperate will buy it because that's less than a new one will cost.

Wow all the hair stood up on the back of my neck when I seen those pics!! I received my P3 as a birthday gift from my wife as I had been talking about it for so long while flying my AR 2.0. If I crash this one I cannot see her considering another...Very sorry to see you crashed it man

Sorry to hear of your sad loss Tony. At a recent funeral I presided at a poem was read out; your story brought it to mind.

High Flight

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .

Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
