Amazing how much of a beating these Phantoms can take.

I think surviving the crash was a combination of luck, prop guards and managing to crash on the landing gear. The drop onto the roof and subsequent ground only tossed the battery door open and popped open one of those rubber vibration dampening barrel/balls.

Was that the tree ?/ as looked like you rose up into that powerline ... ouch

That was mild as compared to some. Phantoms (all versions) are pretty tough. First time or two that you crash you feel lucky it survived w/minimal damage. 6 months into ownership - it's just another crash...lol

Hard to tell if I backed up too much on those leafless branches sticking out or the power line? But the latter didn't seem so low and the former seems to stick out. If you listen to the audio of the propellers hitting something, it sounded more like thin branches than something smooth and continuous.

Ha! Glad to read that it can sustain a whole lot more than that and with a much greater frequency! I've only been flying the Phantom for 3.x weeks so I'm still very cautious. My heart was definitely racing after it came down. The only thing that gave me comfort was the FPV showed I landed on grass instead of on top of one of those buildings! I can jump fences all day long but didn't care to climb on the roof in a secured area.
