I have four batteries for my P2, and there can be occasions when I won't use a battery for a week or so. I know that it's bad for the battery to store it either fully discharged, or fully discharged, so I've been charging my batteries to around the "2 solid and 1 flashing light" or "3 solid lights" level for storage, and then fully charging them a few hours before I go flying. Does this seem like a reasonable strategy?

That's totally fine. For a week between flights I don't even bother going to 50%, I just leave the batteries at landing voltage (18-20%). The concern with discharged cells is that they will slowly lose charge over time, and you don't want it to be low enough at the start where it could drop down to 0-5% and damage the battery. But a few weeks is short enough where you can safely just store after flight.

But do you have time to get them to 40-50%, that's even better.
