Converting Phantom vision 2+ to Go Pro?

Hi all, doing my research I decided that I may go the go pro route with my phantom vision 2+ with my gimbal crapping out on me. I was wondering if me switching over to the zenmuse gimbal from the vision + is a direct plug and play? or would I have to purchase the upgrade kit? I would really love having the tilt on the phantom if possible.
