I know the controller needs a firmware update but the app never offers it. It tells me the aircraft needs an update but it's update is done successfully (and correctly reported). Meanwhile the controller has not been updated. Some others reported the same but solved it by using an IOS device, unfortunately I don't have one. Anyone have any ideas to get the controller updated with Android?

Which firmware versions do you see listed in the "General Settings" --> "About" section of DJI GO?

Current versions:
Aircraft 01.01.0201
Controller 01.01.00.00-

I have tried android 5.1, 6.0 and 7.1. Same results for all of them.

Some people were having the same issue in this thread. Try formatting the memory card and then restart everything. See if the remote controller update shows up after opening the camera view in DJI GO at that point.

I had same problem, my Android device kept saying update required but I had succesfully updated, I have now plugged in my old Ipod and its updateing the controller firmware now. Ill plug back in the Android device after and see if its all ok
