I was never a Mac guy . But I recently went to Apple store in Milwaukee and bought a new IMAC. 1499.00...I use IMovie to do my editing . I absolutely love it!! 4k? No problem...I almost bought the 5k but seen no reason too. Good luck on your quest.

He needs a mac to solve his solution? Lol duh.

Look. I'm here to offer advice. Maybe he should consider a mac or is on the fence. But I hear you. Most folk are scared of change. And feel their setup is great but lack ambition.

Either way sounds like he needs a better computer one way or another
