Read the instructions, watched several videos both DJI and youtube. Tried 20 + times, first step passes(green blinks) second step (facing down) fails every time. Tried turning only the quad, tried turning my whole body with quad.Tried fast turns, tried slow turns. S1 and s2 are in pos.#1. Tried clockwise, tried counter ccw. Tried 4 different locations. Tried with full ,partial, and low battery.Tried activation with S1, tried activation with vision software. Parameters on vision software numbers are within spec. Have taken off ,watch, cell, belt buckle etc. Why is compass needed if we have GPS satellites ?

  • How far up are you holding the aircraft?
  • Are you pointing the front of it down?
  • Did you remove your cell phone from your person while doing this?
  • Are you far enough away from the controller when spinning around?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that sometimes you may need to degauss your compass. Which means you have to put a magnet close to it. You might research that.

1. Chest level
2. for second step, yes.
3. Yes
4. * No, I use it or the app(cell) to activate the calibration. Is this a 2 person procedure ?
