I just downloaded my first videos from my P4 to my 5 year old laptop and it played back the videos but they studdered with only short bits of smooth playback. Are there settings that I need modify or is it simply a case of my laptop is too old to handle these high def or 4K videos? Thanks for your help!

Go to 1080p 60 fps should be better.
That's what I shoot in for my p-4.
Depends on how old but you might have to drop done to 30 fps.

The H265 codec used by the Phantom takes a lot of power to process. If you convert it the playback will be much smoother.

P4 codec is H264...not H265. If the OP is shooting 4k, the stuttering he's getting is likely to the result of not having a powerful enough computer.-(4k takes a lot of processing power no matter what codec is used).
