Traveling to Chicago for the week, and was thinking of brining the drone along - any unique rules/laws in Chicago to be aware of?

With a murder rate of 1 every 17 hours this year, I would be afraid to fly in the city too. Though you're more likely to get wounded... that rate is 1 every 3 hours.
I fly in the city all the time. I fly on the North Side / Lincoln Park area. Beautiful views of the city from over the park or over the Lake. Go early in the morning (6-7am) and you'll have the place to yourself.

Filming boats, jet skis, etc is great. I stay high and away from them, but close enough to get a cool shot.
One thing to be aware of - lots of helicopters fly up and down the coast. A lot of tourist helicopters. The tourists helicopters are usually over 1,000 feet. However, there are some military/police/coast guard choppers that fly very low over the lake front. As a result, I keep my Phantom pretty low in this area and my head on a swivel.

Will share stuff when I get home, traveling for work and was saddled enough bringing the drone, so no proper computer with my. Should be something worth looking at. Just went for a nightflight from the hotel roof, should get some good shots out of that. Lots of air traffic in Chicago, and thought its all pretty high, still spooks you at night.
