Other day I'm walking through Pep Boys after getting a new filter for my Taco and see that led light tape is the new ghetto fabulous car accessory, they have a whole section of it next to the fake carbon fiber sticky back panels and billet brake pedal pads  However, saw some cheap little strips, super bright, embossed in a clear plastic making them water/dust/insect proof about the same length as phantom landing gear vertical struts... So why not?

Wired em up to the internal accessory wires while routing through a vent in the arm, peeled off the sticky tape and stuck em on, couple of zip ties... Night flying orientation is way better, even help during daylight. Pretty slick

I use that stuff on my F550. It's well cheap at about $9/meter from hobby shops.

Should help with orientation. I have also thought about letting a ribbon dangle from one leg to establish orientation from a distance.

I saw these at the RC shop so I guess other hobbyists are also using it. Seemed crazy bright. How visible is it in daylight? My biggest issue is losing orientation when the phantom is too far away... wondering if this will be more visible than the existing light?
