No video transmission and the general feeling is that the camera top board has failed.

How easy is it to just change the camera/gimbal for a new one? Does it have to register with the drone or is it just a case of plug and pray?

check your grey wires where they plug in , mine come loose once in a while and do that

The hardest part is getting the filter off the old camera to change over....

General feeling top board had failed from where?

I don't have any filters.
I spoke to a DJI repair centre in the UK and also responses to an earlier post.

The camera comes with a clear UV filter already attached. Most folks don't recognize it as a filter. It unscrews from the camera (thus the reply from With The Birds). Check the manual and check You Tube for videos of how to remove it. It does protect the camera lens. You usually have to remove it to add ND filters and other filters. The new Camera/Gimbal assembly will just act as a Plug and Play device (like on a computer) and will be recognized by the Quad firmware with no input from you. Then just go through the settings and get the camera set for what you want. It really is easy. I have done it with my P3P twice now.

Ahhh, the ole "general feeling".
If that doesn't fix it, try another"general feeling" part.
