What is the process when changing batteries during a flight. Do you have to shut down the quad, extender, controller and phone, change the battery then boot up everything and connect to wifi again or is there a quicker method?

Shut off the battery, shut off the controller, leave the extender and phone on. Replace the battery. Turn on the controller, turn on the battery. WiFi should connect automatically on your phone which will bring the FPV and all other app functions back to life. The rest you already know.

I will agree with 99% with the above post, but I have found that if I am at home and within the range of my router it will reconnect to my home net. Now that is on a iPhone I don't know if that is the same on a android device.

Now if you are in a area where there is no other open wifi net then it will hopefully reconnect.
