Can the Phantom 2 battery back be retro-fitted to fit the Phantom? Doesn't seem like they'll fit inside, but perhaps outside? Is it too big a retro-fit(whole new boards)? Or is this just a pipe dream and better off continue to use dual batteries on the Phantom.

In theory it should be "easy" to get a P2V battery to work in a regular Phantom. At the heart of it, they're just 3S lipo cells, and if you're comfortable desoldering discharge and balance leads, you can probably get it in the standard configuration without blowing anything up.

The problem is, P2V batteries are >$150, so it's hardly worth the time for anyone to do so. For 1/4th to 1/8th of the cost, you could be running dual 2200s or dual 2700s in your Phantom.

Thanks! Actually, had not considered using 2700's. How much more flight time do you gain from the 2700's? PS: Love your landing gear!
