It maybe could, But i think it would be quite heavy for it. Also, If you want 4k, you probably should get a laptop/desktop pc made for 4k (4k screen etc.)

Highly doubtful. Not enough RAM, cheap RAM, Intel integrated video cards suck, CPU is an i5 2.2Ghz, no 4k screen.

Search these forums for 4k editing pc and see what others are using. If you really want to edit 4K stress free, you're going to have to shell out some dough.

It would manage fairly simple stuff like cutting sections out and adding audio.
If you start doing colour grading and more you will be waiting for hours.

For something really competent, look for:
i5 or better i7
16GB RAM - or more
2GB Video card
256GB (minimum) SSD for Operating System

If you already have a reasonable monitor you could get tower only.
You're still looking at around £1000 for a system that will cope easily.
Cutting a few corners perhaps half that?
Basically a good gaming machine will do this job reasonably well

I don't think so. Don't worry about the 4K screen as you don't need it to edit 4K. Just a proper rig.

I got a laptop workstation and works great but cost me a quite a bit.
Windows 7 Pro x64
i7 4940MX 3.10 GHz 4 cores
32GB RAM
NVIDIA Quadro K3100M

Thanks guys, guess it's back to the shop with this lol, guessing the best and cheapest way is to buy everything separate or bundle motherboard with cpu and put together yourself then. Any recommendations on motherboards and CPUs, my max budget (the missus rule) is £600 I would love an iMac but I can't justify the cost vs requirements vs ear ache of my other half [emoji85][emoji23]

Use man maths. Take cost and divide by 5. By this calculation you can buy top of range iMac and have change to buy more batteries.

Right I've gone for an asus x555ua i7 6500U, 12GB ram, 2TB (looking for SSD swap tho), is this more sufficient for 4K?

Id go 900 series because 700 is getting aged but otherwise fine. The high end 700m are on par with the low end 900s anyway.

Ok I've finally finished my build, z170, i7 6700, 64gb ddr4, 970 gtx card, 2 SSD drives. Just waiting for my 4K monitor to arrive and happy days.
